82d Academy Awards — Red carpet celebrities

The 82d annual Academy Awards were held March 7 at the Kodak Theatre. But before the statues and speeches, Hollywood’s finest strolled the red carpet. See who strutted their stuff before the show.

Pictured, model Elisabetta Canalis looked on as “Up in the Air” actor George Clooney prepared for his big night. His film was up for six Oscars, including best picture and Clooney’s nod for best actor. Ultimately, “The Hurt Locker” took home the award for best picture while best actor went to Jeff Bridges.

The Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble Co. says the Cheeseburger and Taco Night versions of Pringles snack are being recalled because they use a flavor-enhancing hydrolyzed vegetable protein made by Las Vegas-based Basic Food Flavors Inc., which was involved in a possible Salmonella exposure.

Oscars fashion hits and misses 2010

It was easy to declare that last night’s Oscar ceremony – sartorially speaking, at least – was whitewashed. The red carpet was flooded with pale, delicately colored frocks of cream, gray, sand, or iridescent pink, as well as, of course, standard black. There were a few brave souls (thank you Penélope Cruz (left) and Vera Farmiga), but overall, actresses shunned the rainbow this year.
